VANOS (or VAN0S) is BMW’s variable valve timing system. The VANOS unit is basically a pump and solenoid that rotates the camshaft to make more torque at various RPM. I thought because of the bad O ring vanos then I decided to buy a vanos O ring kit and do the vanos job. then i did a reset timing by a bmw specialist repair
